North Meadow Cottage is a 5* luxury cottage with stunning open-plan living spaces opening onto a large terrace with garden and valley views.

The cottage has a beautiful open-plan living/dining/ kitchen area with adouble height vaulted ceiling, living room with leather sofas and armchairs, dining table with free-standing seating, a state-of-the-art luxury kitchen, and doors opening onto private gardens.

The cottage has three spacious bedrooms, including a master double bedroom with uninterrupted views and bi-fold doors leading directly onto the terrace.

The bedroom has a large dressing area and luxury accessible wet-room with step-free Aqualisa Quartz shower, fixed grab-rails for shower, WC, and washbasin, wheel-under washbasin, slightly raised WC, bidet, and lever-style taps (a shower chair and WC frame are available to loan).

North Meadow Cottage has two further twin/double bedrooms, and a luxury family bathroom with shower over bath.

The cottage has beautiful outside spaces including a large terrace at the rear of the property with panoramic views, outdoor dining furniture and BBQ, private gardens with pond, and access to further gardens. To the front of the cottage is a level terrace with picnic table and private hard-standing parking. EV charging is available on-site.

North Meadow Cottage is one of five luxury cottages at Mendham Mill with extensive grounds, water meadows, and a famous historic watermill. Guests can enjoy extensive fishing and wild swimming along 800m of private riverbank and canoes and rowing boat are freely available.

A large games room (with table tennis, pool table and darts) and gym with commercial fitness equipment are also available to guests.

Mendham Mill is located in the peaceful Waveney Valley and is surrounded by footpaths and cycling routes. The historic market town of Harleston is just 2 miles away with independent shops and delicatessens, cosy tearooms and historic coaching inns. The village pub is a 5 minute walk from Mendham Mill, and a short drive away is Flint Vineyard, along with 2 local breweries.

The East Coast seaside towns of Southwold, Warbleswick and Dunwich are just 35 minutes drive away and guests can also enjoy boating on the Norfolk Broads just 25 minutes away.

Family activities and attractions such as Africa Alive, Banham Zoo, BeWILDerwood, Flixton Air Museum, Minsmere RSPB reserve and local museums are all available locally.

Reviews

This was our third stay in North Meadow Cottage. As usual it was well equipped and very comfortable. Spent some time in the new games room and it also has a new gym. Very peaceful with superb gardens. Cottage is all on one level and has a wheel-in shower room which was perfect for our daughter who is a wheelchair user. Can't thank Nick and James enough for their friendliness and nothing seems too much trouble if you need any help.

Mendham Mill is a little gem in the countryside. The cottages are spacious and beautifully maintained, with everything you need provided. The location and view from North Meadow Cottage was idyllic. Nick and James were very helpful with additional items in the bathroom to ensure mobility challenges were minimised. Will definitely be back and would thoroughly recommend a visit.

I could go on about this place over and over, the owners were lovely, really taking care to make sure my needs as a wheelchair user were met (and undertaking work before I got there to make sure they were). Brilliant property, very well maintained and lovely to stay in. The views are wonderful and it is lovely - peaceful and quiet but with places to go and things to see all within an easy drive. I'm going back, it was fabulous.

Stayed in North Meadow Cottage which has been adapted for disabled guests but you would never know as decor is modern with top spec fixtures and finished to high standard. Being disabled I dont want to be surrounded by mobility aids and bathrooms that are all white grab rails. (I can walk small distances with a rollator, if you are in a wheelchair its easy to move around). Beautiful views across the pond to the river, from main bedroom and lounge, made it easy to stay in, while my husband did a bit of fishing, very relaxing break. Owners are friendly and informative and we would definitely consider going back.

We had a lovely week at North Meadow cottage. The setting is beautiful, the facilities in the cottage were perfect for us and our wheelchair. Whilst the location is very rural the new games room provided ample entertainment when we wanted to relax at the cottage. Nick and James are wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble. We’ll definitely be going back.

Had a great stay in North Meadow Cottage, lovely grounds and views. The cottage was very well equipped, comfortable and the owners, Nick and James, were very friendly and helpful if you needed anything. Our daughter, who uses a wheelchair, found it very easy to get around the cottage and the wet-room was very useful. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back in the future.

A super week in a fabulous cottage, it is cosy and amazingly equipped. It worked well for my wheelchair user boyfriend which is a huge bonus for us, it exceeds the photos. A beautiful setting too.
