Property description

Eucalyptus Lodge is a luxury glamping lodge with panoramic valley views and private accessible hot-tub.

The lodge has a spacious open-plan living/dining/kitchen design with luxury leather corner sofa, riser/recliner chair (on request), cosy wood-burning stove, and flat-screen TV.

Guests can enjoy a stylish fully-fitted kitchen with ‘Slide-and-Hide’ oven, and large wheelchair-accessible dining table with free-standing seating for six.

Eucalyptus Lodge has a spacious double bedroom with twin/superking profiling beds, and a comfortable king-size bedroom with semi electric adjustable bed (a mobile hoist is available for use in the bedrooms and around the lodge on request). An additional single bed can be made up in either room or a sofa bed is available in the lounge.

The lodge has a stylish accessible wet-room with step-free shower, drop-down grab-rails alongside the shower and WC, fixed grab-rails for shower, WC and washbasin, wall-mounted shower seat, tilt-in-space shower/commode chair, and wheel-under washbasin (toilet frame available on request).

Eucalyptus Lodge has beautiful outside spaces including a large level decked area with panoramic valley views, covered seating area with outdoor dining furniture, gas BBQ, and private wood-fired hot-tub with hoist access.

The lodge has private parking for 3 cars and a level path with lighting leading to the front door. Eucalyptus Lodge is dog-friendly (up to two well-behaved dogs).

Eucalyptus Lodge is set in 8 acres of historic gardens, ponds and woodland at Lower Coombe Royal Glamping and Holiday Cottages with three further glamping lodges (each sleeping 6), The Coach House (sleeping 6), and The Loft (sleeping 2-4).

The communal play area has a large trampoline, small football pitch, large slide and swings, and table tennis.

Lower Coombe Royal is situated in the heart of South Devon on the edge of the picturesque market town of Kingsbridge with independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Reviews

This place was the perfect relaxing location but also a great base to explore the South Hams with the harbour town of Kingsbridge just a short walk away. Stayed at Eucalyptus Lodge with my disabled father, this lodge is very well equipped and has great open space for wheelchair and a brilliant wet-room shower room/ bathroom for anyone with disability issues. Everything is top quality here from the bed linen to kitchen appliances and attention to details is superb you even get welcome gifts! Paul & Julie are wonderful kind respectful owners that were more than happy to help with anything we required and lovely people to chat with but they also would just leave you in peace to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We would definitely recommend this to anyone with disability issues or even if not disabled it’s a great place. Overall a fantastic holiday very kind thoughtful hosts providing immaculately presented accommodation.

In short, our stay exceeded all expectations (which were already high based on the website and incredible photos); don’t hesitate to book up and enjoy it too. You will leave having had an incredible, relaxing break having spent time in this lovely and secluded setting. The standard of accommodation and attention to detail is very high. The atmosphere of the whole place is spot on - secluded and private set within well tended mature, spectacular gardens. There are also rope swings, a play area and plenty of adventure and exploration for the kids to burn off excess energy. Not to mention a camp fire within the gardens for toasted marshmallows. There were also free range chickens, a cockerel, ducks, bee hives and a field of neighbouring cows for little ones who love animals. Paul and Julie are incredible hosts, this has set the bar very high in terms of future holidays. In fact, we may save the disappointment and just come and stay again! Cannot recommend it highly enough, faultless.

We stayed in Eucalyptus Lodge. The standard of accommodation and attention to detail is very high. It is decorated very tastefully. The beds and linen are high quality, the kitchen is brand new and fully equipped (…far better than my own!), wood burner for a cosy evening inside or blankets if you want to wrap up outside and enjoy the setting. The hot tub was a massive hit too after days at the incredible local beaches. A massive bag of logs provided with more available. Fresh ground coffee, nespresso machine with pods, dishwasher tablets, washing liquid, milk in the fridge on arrival for a cuppa. Baby cot and kids toys also on hand in the lodge (all of which saves on space when packing). All of these touches helped to settle in with no fuss and get on with enjoying family time. There was also a lovely basket of local produce and walking maps also on arrival.

The atmosphere of the whole place is spot on - secluded and private set within well tended mature, spectacular gardens of 9 acres, with bright bursts of colour and a sub-tropical feel, and lovely subtle lighting in the evenings. There are also rope swings, a play area and plenty of adventure and exploration for the kids to burn off excess energy. Not to mention a camp fire within the gardens for toasted marshmallows. There were also free range chickens, a cockerel, ducks, bee hives and a field of neighbouring cows for little ones who love animals.

Paul and Julie are incredible hosts and struck a perfect balance of being attentive and welcoming, whilst also not being OTT (nice and relaxed!). The check-in process was seamless and the neat touch of having an 90+ page e-guide (which can be downloaded to your phone) covering everything you could possibly think of. Kingsbridge High Street is thriving with independent shops, local produce and cafes. It is only a 10-minute walk from Lower Coombe Royal (if that). This has set the bar very high in terms of future holidays. In fact, we may save the disappointment and just come and stay again! Cannot recommend it highly enough. Fautless, five stars all the way…

We had the most relaxing week at Eucalyptus Lodge. The setting and location is ideal for those families looking for a little bit of quiet set in an idyllic garden of eden, great for those young explorer's amongst you. Julie and Paul went above and beyond making fantastic hosts. During the day you are no more than a 15 minute drive from the lovely Salcombe or a 5 minute walk from the centre of Kingsbridge which was perfect for us. To finish the night off you can settle down in the amazing Swedish wood-fired hot-tub. The guide that's sent beforehand is super useful for selecting the most appropriate beaches etc. Thanks Julie & Paul! We look forward to hopefully staying again in the future.
