Property description

Accessible Lakeside Lodge is a single-storey lodge with stunning lakeside views situated just a few miles from Elgin.

The lodge has level access into a light and airy open-plan living/dining/kitchen space with doors onto the terrace and uninterrupted views of the fishery and lochs. The open-plan space has leather sofas, wall-mounted TV, and remote and voice controlled blinds. The living room also has remote and voice controlled curtains.

The lodge has a fully-equipped accessible kitchen with wheel-under sink, wheel-under hob, wheel-under section of worksurface, suction grip for fridge, and low breakfast bar with free-standing seating for four.

The doors from the living space onto the garden are remote and voice controlled, and also have wall buttons. Lights in all rooms can be switched on/dimmed by voice control.

Accessible Lakeside Lodge has sliding doors into a large master bedroom with ceiling hoist, armchair, wall-mounted TV, large picture windows, remote and voice controlled curtains and blinds, and beautiful lake views.

Sliding doors lead into an en-suite accessible wet-room with step-free shower, static shower chair, drop-down grab-rail in front of WC, and suction grab-rails for WC or shower (the wet-room can also be accessed from the main living space).

The lodge has a second double bedroom, also with wall-mounted TV, remote and voice controlled blinds, and lake views.

Guests can enjoy beautiful outdoor spaces to the front of the dog-friendly lodge with panoramic views of the lakes and surrounding countryside.

A level decked terrace leads along the front of the lodge with garden bench, and wider second seating area with outdoor dining furniture. The terrace has a decked ramp with hot-tub which leads onto the lawns and down to the lake.

To the rear of the lodge is a hard-standing driveway and paved path leading to the main entrance rear door which is remote or voice controlled and also has wall buttons.

Accessible Lakeside Lodge is situated in a peaceful valley location at Wardend Fishery with well-stocked 5 acre main loch, conditioning pond, and smaller stock ponds (the surroundings of the Angling Loch are well maintained and can be accessed by wheelchair – please check suitability prior to booking).

Fresh, local produce is available in the fishery shop and Belleview coffee shop.

Wardend Fishery is situated just 5 miles from the town of Elgin with shops, cafes, restaurants, leisure facilities and heritage attractions.

The town is situated in a world famous whisky region and lies midway between Inverness and Aberdeen on the beautiful North East Scotland coastline. Guests can enjoy exploring a wide range of attractions and activities and visiting beautiful coastal and rural areas.

Reviews

With me being in a wheelchair, Lakeside Lodge was totally accessible, e.g. even all the curtains would open and close remotely at the touch of a button. There was a hoist above the bed to help anyone who needs help to get in and out of bed, all kitchen cupboards were perfectly lowered for me in my wheelchair. Even the doors opened remotely at the touch of a button! All amenities in the bathroom were suitable for me. The wonderful hosts Kevin and Lydia were very helpful in ensuring my wife and I were suitably looked after. All in all a wonderful, totally accessible stay in the dog friendly lodge.
