Property description

Chestnut Cottage is a stylish accessible property with a private balcony overlooking a fishing lake, and private hot-tub with hoist.

The cottage has a light open-plan living/dining/kitchen area on the ground floor with easy access into the ground floor bedrooms, and onto the private balcony and rear patio.

The living room has a corner leather sofa and armchair, and wall-mounted 40” Samsung LED TV (riser/recliner chair available to hire), and the luxury accessible kitchen has rise-and-fall worktops, hob and sink, slide-under opening oven, touch control hob, and a contemporary dining table with seating for 6.

Chestnut Cottage has a spacious ground-floor en-suite twin/double bedroom with profiling bed and ceiling hoist leading into the large en-suite accessible wet-room with step-free shower, fixed grab-rail for shower, wheel-under washbasin, drop-down rail for WC, and raised WC (mobile hoist and mobile shower/commode chair are available to loan).

Also on the ground floor is an en-suite twin/double bedroom with luxury shower room.

Chestnut Cottage has a further twin/double bedroom on the first floor with a large en-suite bathroom with free-standing bath, washbasin and WC. All bedrooms have luxury pocket sprung beds and TVs.

Chestnut Cottage has level access onto a private accessible balcony directly overlooking the private Brickhouse Farm fishing lake; and level access onto a side patio with private hot-tub and track hoist (the profiling bed can roll out from the bedroom onto the balcony). Each cottage has private parking, and a drop off/pick-up point.

Chestnut Cottage is one of 12 accessible cottages situated at Brickhouse Farm Cottages, and guests can enjoy an accessible hydrotherapy pool with hoist (for private hire).

‘Lakeside Bistro’ is a newly developed accessible bistro with level access throughout, a Changing Places facility, lift to the first floor, table raisers and specialist cutlery.  The farm has a fully-stocked accessible fishing lake, and a recreation area within an enclosed field with a swing set, trampoline, and football nets.

Brickhouse Farm Cottages are set in a peaceful rural location, yet are a short distance from numerous local attractions. It is a short drive into the famous seaside town of Blackpool with the accessible Sandcastle Waterpark (with hoist), Illuminations, Blackpool Tower, the Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Zoo and so much more.

The cottages are also in an ideal location to explore Marton Mere Local Nature Reserve, the coastal town of Cleveleys, pretty St.Anne’s and Lytham, and the historic university town of Lancaster.

We stayed in Chestnut Cottage, the accommodation is outstanding, tasteful decor, beautiful surroundings, great location and home from home disabled adaptations. We cannot recommend this place enough, the family are amazing and they know exactly what is needed for a restful stay when you have a family member with a disability.

We stayed at Chestnut Cottage during our stay. We haven't been able to get away on holiday in a while now, it was great that we had an overhead hoist and profiling bed like we do at home. We all loved our stay here and didn't want to leave. We would really like to visit again sometime.

Just spent three days in Chestnut Cottage with three ladies that I care for. What a wonderful tranquil place with exceptional accommodation, will definitely be coming back again. Close to all the excitement you need, with the heart of Blackpool only 5 miles away. Thank you for a lovely stay, the ladies really enjoyed it.

Just home from a lovely week away staying in Chestnut Cottage. A beautiful setting and gorgeous cottage, so easy with the ceiling hoist and the roll in shower we need for my son. We enjoyed the sunny afternoons sitting on the deck watching the ducks. Lovely meals in the bistro and we enjoyed the quiz night too. Thanks to all the friendly and helpful staff, would love to visit again.

Fabulous facilities for special needs, most amazing place we've ever stopped, accessible for all. Hot-tubs with ceiling tracks, hydrotherapy pool and now brilliant Bistro, a rare find.

Just got home after spending the past week in Chestnut Cottage. Myself, my partner and 2 children have had the best holiday we have ever had. Both my children are in wheelchairs & everything they could have needed was provided for, including a hoist for the hot tub!!! Everybody at Brickhouse was so friendly and helpful, and the cottages are so clean & welcoming. Had some lovely days in and around Blackpool, and some lovely days sat on our balcony watching and feeding the ducks. I can't recommend this amazing place enough.
