A modern caravan carefully adapted by the charity North Wales Accessible Holidays for the Blind and Visually Impaired situated just a few minutes from the beach.
The luxurious caravan has a tactile pathway leading from a tarmac road, lockable gate, ramp access onto the verandah, and tactile dots to indicate the doorway into the caravan.
The caravan has a stylish lounge with free-standing sofas (one sofa bed), TV, double doors leading onto the private verandah, a talking clock, large TV, low vision aids, talking book machine, additional lighting unit, large print scrabble, tactile dominoes and large print playing cards.
The caravan has a modern fully-fitted kitchen with talking microwave, hob with tactile dots, liquid level indicator, and tactile extractor hood. The dining table has free-standing seating for four, colour contrasting mats and crockery, and plates with raised edges.
The caravan has a spacious master bedroom with double bed, wall-mounted TV, and en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath. shower-room with integrated seat in shower.
The twin bedroom also has a wall-mounted TV, and the caravan has a second bathroom with shower and integrated seat.
Guests can enjoy wrap-around decking with large seating area and outdoor dining furniture, guide dog spending area, and private parking.
The caravan is situated on Lido Beach Holiday Park on the North Wales Coast in Prestatyn with Lido Coffee Shop and Cafe. The sandy Blue Flag beach, accessible promenade and Nova Centre (with hoist into the pool, soft play centre, restaurants and coffee shop) are just 5 minutes walk from the holiday park.
Amusement arcades, café, bars, restaurants, and mini golf are also within 5 minutes walk of the caravan.
Prestatyn offers entertainment and leisure facilities, a retail park with High Street stores and supermarket, independent shops and restaurants on the pretty main street, and good public transport links.
The coastal town is also within driving distance of numerous attractions and family activities including castles, family theme parks, zoos, adventure activities and historical attractions.

I would like to say how much we all enjoyed our weeks holiday in Wales. My son (who is visually impaired) found the caravan very accessible and it made his holiday very enjoyable. The little touches like the scrabble and cards were fantastic for him. The caravan and facilities were all wonderful.
Have just enjoyed a relaxing week with family in Prestatyn in a wonderfully equipped caravan. Thank you to everyone, especially Nigel and Karen. Nigel gave us a very comprehensive tour of all the facilities.
We have never had such an enjoyable and easy holiday in all the years we have been together. The caravan is spotlessly clean, comfortable (both the easy chairs and the beds), easy to use and maintain. If there is such a standard we would give it "10 Stars". The welcome from Nigel and Karen was warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. If any problems arose, they were only a phone call away, and would have been with us in no time to sort things out. We could go on and on with the praise for Nigel and Karen but is it something you have to experience to know exactly what we mean. To Nigel and Karen, thank you for the best holiday we have ever had.
We had a great time last week. Having a caravan that was spacious and fully adapted for mine and my friends needs was wonderful. I was able to do more things for myself due to the adaptations. It was great having the spending pen for the guide dogs which made cleaning up a lot easier as it was in one area. The caravan is placed on a nice quiet camp, with easy access to public transport, which made getting around and exploring much simpler. The Caravan is the greatest I have ever stayed in, with many extra features that made our holiday much more comfortable and enjoyable. From the moment we walked into the caravan it was obvious that a huge amount of thought had been put into everything.
We arrived at the holiday home to a warm welcome and were shown all the wonderful adjustments, from the raised markers on the ramp up to find the door, talking clocks, talking microwave, lighting, and how to use various things. In the cupboard under the television is a great selection of games. It was lovely being able to play Scrabble and Dominoes. What was most important, being severely sight impaired, is that I could have my independence and cook and get around with ease. The holiday home is laid out for easy access without things in your way that you could bump into or trip over, to be able to cook and use the microwave at ease all makes the experience so much more enjoyable.
It's a gorgeous caravan with lots of helpful resources and adaptations, we only paid £250 for 7 nights, it's cheaper out of the holidays. It's walking distance to the beach and lots of facilities on site. Can not recommend them enough.

Back from our second holiday at Lido Park. Once again we had a fantastic time and the weather was pretty kind to us as well. Hopefully be back next year.
