Roe Cottage is a modern purpose-built accessible barn conversion situated in a peaceful rural setting.

The cottage has a spacious open-plan living/dining/kitchen space with wide sliding doors opening onto a private patio with hot-tub. The living room has a comfortable corner sofa (also a sofa bed), armchair, flat-screen Smart TV, staircase leading to the first floor, and internal wheelchair-accessible lift. (A riser/recliner chair is available to hire).

The luxury kitchen has a lowered/wheel-under sink, and a dining table with free-standing seating.

Roe Cottage has two bedrooms on the first floor (accessible by internal lift). The accessible bedroom has an electric profiling bed, single sofa bed, and ceiling hoist leading into the en-suite wet-room.

The stylish wet-room has a step-free shower, fixed grab-rail for shower, wheel-under washbasin, fixed and drop-down grab-rail alongside WC, and selection of shower chairs.

The second bedroom can be configured as a king-size or twin bedroom, and the cottage has a family shower room.

Additional equipment available to hire includes a mobile hoist, riser/recliner chair, WC standing frame, shower trolley, WC raiser, walking frame, second profiling bed, airflow mattress, pair of bed bumpers, and floor mats.

Windmill Barns is situated at the top of Windmill Hill with panoramic views of the Warwickshire countryside, and is just 3 miles from the pretty market town of Alcester.

A wide range of attractions are available locally including All Things Wild family nature centre, Warwick Castle, Simply Alpaca, Cotswold Farm Park, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, Coughton Court National Trust estate, and Cadbury World.

Windmill Barns is also within easy driving distance of the pretty Cotswolds, Shakespeare’s Birthplace and home of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon, and the vibrant city of Birmingham.

Well what a find. We spent 3 days in Roe Cottage, everything you would require as a disabled guest is catered for. The cottage is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It was a nice touch to receive a phone call from David before our visit asking if we had any specific requirements for our son. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

Fantastic, we usually spend hours rearranging furniture and struggling to make holiday accommodation suitable for our daughter and her wheelchair. Everything here was perfect, from the lift into her room with a profiling bed and H-Track ceiling hoist, to the hot-tub with views in the rear courtyard. Our breaks away are usually harder work than staying at home, but this weekend was actually relaxing and enjoyable for everyone.

We had a fabulous week here at Windmill Barns. It's a beautiful, peaceful spot but also local to amenities, restaurants, etc. The cottages themselves are comfy and well-appointed and had everything we needed to meet the needs of our son who uses a wheelchair. It made a huge difference to the ease of our holiday to find somewhere that was properly accessible, including the hot-tub! David was the perfect host, very relaxed, friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be returning to Windmill Barns!

Fantastic weekend at Windmill Barns. Fully equipped for a wheelchair user. Nice touches such as tea, coffee, sugar supplied, even milk in the fridge. Beautiful surroundings, great location. Would highly recommend a stay!

We found the accommodation very spacious and extra clean. All our needs were met, with a tracking hoist and profiling bed, and shower chair. The lift in the lounge was great, allowing us to get upstairs with ease with the wheelchair. The tracking hoist over the hot-tub was brilliant, easy to use and hoist into the lovely warm water. David was lovely, nothing was too much trouble for him. Hopefully we will be able to return.
