Property description

Bramble Brae is a stunning property with multiple floor-to-ceiling windows offering spectacular views of the Fife countryside and is situated on a 300 acre working family farm.

Bramble Brae has a large open-plan living/dining/kitchen space with vaulted ceiling, skylights, cosy wood-burner, and double doors leading onto a large decked area.

The living room has comfortable sofas and armchairs, and a large flat-screen TV. The kitchen/diner has a modern fully-equipped kitchen and large dining table with free-standing seating, and there is a utility room with laundry facilities and cloakroom WC.

The lodge has two super-king (or twin) bedrooms, both with en-suite shower rooms, and two twin bedrooms.

The spacious family bathroom has a step-free shower, fixed grab-rail for shower, hand-held shower attachment, shower stool, and bath with fixed grab-rail (a shower wheelchair and toilet raiser with handles are also available to loan – please note shower wheelchair image is Balgownie Bunkhouse).

Guests can enjoy a large decked area with outdoor seating, picnic bench and BBQ, and a large fully enclosed garden with children’s swing and slide. The double garage games rooms has a pool table, air hockey, and a selection of bikes (with direct access onto the Dunfermline to Alloa cyclepath).

The dog-friendly lodge has hard-standing parking for several cars and ramp access to the side door or main doors off the decking. Two EV chargers are available at Balgownie Bunkhouse.

Bramble Brae is situated on a working family farm and guests are welcome to join tours of the mixed farm including behind the scenes visits, meeting the Highland cows and calves, walking in the crop fields, and meeting the farm’s Pygmy goats.

A ‘Cream Tea Tour’ is also available with guests invited into the family farmhouse for a hot drink and homemade cakes following the tour, and bespoke tours can also be arranged. Most areas of the tour are wheelchair-accessible.

Balgownie Mains Farm is situated less than three miles from the picturesque village of Royal Burgh of Culross overlooking the Firth of Forth with Royal Palace and Abbey.

A second accessible property ‘Balgownie Bunkhouse’ is also situated at the farm sleeping up to 12 guests in 3 bedrooms (link in Summary section). The two properties are around 1/4 mile apart on a quiet country road.

Guests can enjoy exploring the beautiful Fife countryside and coastline, and visit a wide range of popular attractions such as Blackness Castle, Falkland Palace, Pittencrieff Park, Aberdour Castle or Doune Castle. The farm is within driving distance of pretty towns and villages, and the vibrant and historic cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling.
