Property description

West Acre Luxury Cottage is a stunning purpose-built 5* property with multiple socialising and entertaining spaces, perfect for multi-generational family and friends group holidays.

West Acre has a spacious main lounge with large leather sofas, high-backed armchair, Smart TV, and cosy wood-burner. A cosy living room/snug is situated just next door with sofas, gaming armchairs, TV, PS4 and Xbox 360.

The dog-friendly house has a large designer kitchen/dining room with central island, large section of lowered accessible worktop, and dining table with seating for 8 guests. Bi-fold doors lead directly onto the rear terrace with garden views.

Just next door to the kitchen/dining room is the main dining room/games room with large oak dining table with free-standing seating for up to 16 guests and a large sofa. The table can also be converted into a full-size slate bedded pool table.

West Acre has seven boutique style luxury bedrooms including two on the ground floor – Petra is a large family bedroom with two king-size beds, and Route 66 is a king-size bedroom (all beds are zip-and-link and the bedrooms can be configured as twin or double rooms).

Also on the ground floor is a family shower room, an accessible WC with drop-down grab-rails, and utility room with laundry facilities. The hallway has a through-floor lift alongside the large library corridor leading to the first floor with five further luxury bedrooms.

Hoi is a king-size accessible bedroom and has an en-suite accessible bathroom with walk-in shower (ramp can be provided for level access into the shower), fixed grab-rails for shower, drop-down and fixed grab-rails for WC, wheel-under washbasin, and bath (static shower chair, WC seat raiser and bath transfer board available to loan).

The very large Alhambra master suite has a king-size bed and spacious en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower cubicle (small lip to enter), whirlpool bath, washbasin and WC.

Daintree, Angkor and Bora Bora are all spacious king-size bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms. All seven bedrooms have TVs, bathrobes and slippers.

West Acre has luxury entertainment areas leading off the master Alhambra suite including a Swedish sauna room and a large South-West facing terrace with stunning countryside views, hot-tub, sun-loungers, and outdoor seating (please note there is a lip over the door frame onto the terrace, removeable ramps are available).

The terrace also leads to a large cinema room with high definition projector, cinema style surround-sound, sofas, chairs and beanbags (also accessed via the Alhambra Suite with a lip over the door frame onto the terrace, and a step down into the cinema room – ramp available).

Guests can also enjoy stunning landscaped gardens with panoramic views over open countryside. West Acre has a very large wheelchair-accessible patio area with BBQ and outdoor dining furniture accessed via paved pathways. The outside space also has large lawns, 12 seater African hut, table tennis, basketball, lawn games, play area, and play house.

The house has a hard-standing drive for a minimum of 8 cars, Electric Vehicle Charging Point, and permanent ramp access on paved pathways into the house. Up to four dogs are welcome.

West Acre Luxury Cottage is ideal for a large multi-generational family or friends group and for special occasions additional services can be arranged such as private chefs or third party entertainers.

The house is situated in the pretty village of Wistow with the village pub just 5 minutes walk away. The village is north of the market town of Selby and just 13 miles from the historic city of York with numerous shops, restaurants and visitor attractions. A wide range of family activities and attractions are available locally.

West Acre Luxury Cottage was originally designed and built as a family home, with particular consideration for a family member who is a wheelchair user. The family welcome the opportunity to discuss any group or individual accessibility requirements prior to booking to ensure that the needs of guests are fully met.

We have all had an amazing time at West Acre Cottage. We are a family of 4 generations - the youngest two are toddlers and the oldest 84 years old! The cottage was perfect for everyone and met everyone's needs. We all had so much space and there was so much to do. Thank you so much Jeff, Vicki and Nathan. Your lovely house has given our extended family an opportunity to celebrate Christmas together for the first time. The large dimensions of the house have enabled us to spread out and enjoy the numerous luxury facilities. When we've wanted to be together the family kitchen and spacious lounges have made it easy. The disabled facilities also proved superb for our specific family circumstances. The home is beautifully appointed and we have remarked specifically on the warm welcome and friendly tone of Jeff, Vicki and Nathan. We look forward to coming back at some time in the future.

Wow what a fabulous house! Thank you for all that you have done not only to welcome two babies but also two dogs - you have gone above and beyond what we would have ever expected! Thank you also for the delicious chocolate cake which we had to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday. You have made the weekend so much more special. There are so many rooms to discover and experience, the cinema room, the hot-tub, games room - all have been used and enjoyed immensely.

There are not enough words to explain how we have felt staying in your fabulous house. I can honestly say that this was exactly the right place to celebrate a 70th. Having read through the other comments in this book I can only endorse every single one. Thank you so much for letting us experience West Acre.

From the very first phone call we just knew that we would have the best time at this house. It has been a while since we have been able to go away together as a family and what a brilliant time we have had. This house has everything to keep the 16 of us happy. The kids don't want to leave - especially because of the cinema room. All the little touches have meant so much and you have made our Dad's 70th very special. Thank you for everything.
