The Old Stables is a luxury barn conversion with uninterrupted views across the surrounding parkland.

The Old Stables has a stunning open-plan living/dining/kitchen space with double doors providing uninterrupted views of the surrounding parkland. The living room has comfortable sofas, cosy wood-burner, and Smart TV, leading into a dining area with bespoke wheelchair-accessible table and free-standing seating.

The modern accessible kitchen has a lowered/wheel-under hob and worktop, wheel-under sink, and slide-and-hide Neff oven.

The Old Stables has a spacious master bedroom with super-king/twin bed, space below for mobile hoist, extra sockets either side of the bed, door with direct access to the terrace, and an en-suite accessible bathroom.

The en-suite bathroom has a walk-in shower (small lip to access) with sliding doors, fixed grab-rails for shower, comfort height WC, and height-adjustable wheel-under washbasin with integrated handles, wheeled shower chair, and static shower chair.

The Blue Bedroom has a king-size electric adjustable bed with space below for mobile hoist, door with direct access to the terrace (over a step), and extra sockets either side of the bed.

The Pink Bedroom has a super king-size/twin bed, space below for mobile hoist, door with direct access to the terrace (over a step), and extra sockets either side of the bed.

The cottage has hard-standing parking for three cars and an EV car charging point.

The Old Stables is one of three accessible barn conversions situated at Castle Chase Cottages on the outskirts of the pretty village of Ayston with village green, period stone houses and church.

The Tack Room and The Hay Barn both sleep two guests and all three cottages can be booked together accommodating ten guests in total. The cottages are dog-friendly and welcome up to two dogs in each cottage.

Castle Chase Cottages are close to the picturesque market town of Uppingham with local amenities, independent shops, restaurants, tea rooms and local pubs.

Guests can enjoy visiting the popular market towns of Stamford and Oakham, and explore Rutland Water, set in 4,200 acres of open countryside with Aqua Park, watersports, walking/cycling routes, cafe, Changing Places facility, and peaceful nature reserve.

We have had a great stay at The Old Stables, a beautiful property and well thought through. It is the best wheelchair-accessible cottage we have stayed in, very comfortable and well-equipped. Loved exploring the local Rutland area, we were lucky to have great weather. All in all a great look and we will definitely look to return.

Probably the best holiday cottage we have stayed in! So much thought had gone into designing and equipping such a wonderful, comfortable cottage. More than enough room for 6 adults and the dog. Lots to see in the area, great dog walks nearby. Lovely and friendly, helpful hosts too!

Always a problem to find suitable accommodation for disabled folk and dogs, but this property is perfect! A lovely relaxing week was had by all.
