Property description

Teal Cottage is a luxury 5* wheelchair-accessible cottage with panoramic countryside views and a private hot-tub.

The spacious open-plan living/kitchen/dining room with patio doors provides open countryside views.

The living room has comfortable sofas, armchairs, riser/recliner chair, and wall-mounted TV; and the kitchen/dining area has a modern fully-equipped kitchen (with one lowered worksurface), extendable dining table with free-standing seating, and wood-burner.

Teal Cottage has three luxury bedrooms, all with zip-and-link beds that can be made up either as twin or super king-size beds, and TVs. (Profiling beds and hoists can be hired from a trusted local company who will install items prior to arrival).

The cottage has a master bedroom with en-suite accessible wet-room which can also be accessed from the hallway (can be closed off at night for privacy).

The wet-room has a step-free shower, wheel-under and height-adjustable washbasin, and bath (both with emergency cords). The additional two bedrooms both have en-suite bathrooms with shower cubicles.

Additional mobility equipment is available including wheeled and static shower/commode chairs, suction grab-rails, raised WC seats, bath seat, transfer boards, bed-sides, bed-raisers, wheelchairs, walking aids, crutches, and vibrating alarm clock.

Wallops Wood Cottages and Grenville have ten cottages in total, perfect for multi-generational holidays or celebratory get-togethers. For larger groups, Wallops Wood Cottages sleeps 46 guests, and Grenville sleeps a total of 26 guests. Wallops Wood also has 9 glamping shepherd’s huts in a secluded meadow nearby.

The beautiful indoor heated pool and jacuzzi at the main Wallops Wood site have hoist access, and can be booked for daily and exclusive swim sessions with access to a sauna and steam room. The pool also has gentle steps with handrail, and accessible changing rooms.

Families can enjoy a large games room with air hockey, pool table, table tennis, adventure bus with swing and slide, toy kitchen, soft play, range of toys, and sofas.

Wallops Wood Cottages are situated close to the pretty village of Droxford in the South Downs National Park, with local amenities including award-winning country pubs and a village shop.

Reviews

Our second visit didn't disappoint. The facilities for wheelchairs are first class with plenty of space in the bathroom and bedroom for hoists. The parking was right next to our cottage. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped, and the welcome pack is a nice touch. The farmhouse kitchen meals are delicious and good value.

Teal for the 4th time, we cannot express how much we love Teal. It gives us all we need, which is why we’re coming back next year! It’s location is great and the facilities for wheelchair users are excellent.
